MINUTES

RADBURN CITIZENS’ ASSOCIATION MEETING

Date: April 8 2015

Time: 7:30pm

Location: Grange Hall

Number in attendance 17 headcount (17 signed in):

Quorum was not met

WELCOME AND CALL TO ORDER: Jill Davis

Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of March 8th 2015 meeting were read.

TREASURER’S REPORT:         Marshall Chandler

Marshall Chandler read the treasurer’s report. Net cost of Spring dance was $127.92.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Jill Davis

Introductions were made for those in attendance so everyone can get to know their neighbors better.

March 28th Dance Party was a success.

April 18th Talent Night and Pot Luck Dinner. Please volunteer your talent for a great evening.

May 17th house tour was cancelled. Instead there will be a kids event called Fairy Tale Stories at 11AM.

The next RCA Meeting is scheduled for May 13th 2015.

Trustees Report

The 5K PTA run has been approved now.

Fair Lawn All Sports requested use of the grange gym.

The town received a grant from the state for a study to improve the area around the train station.

If Radburn Association approves of the benches they will pay for them but no plaques allowed for them.

The Radburn Association website is being worked on for improvement.

MINUTES

There has been no new developments regarding the investment of the 4M dollars in funds received for Daly Field.

The town decided not to take responsibility for the sidewalks in Radburn.

Suggestions for additional activities may be sent to pres@radburncitizens.org .

Larry Koplick is willing to do another presentation on the history of Radburn. A suggestion was made to video tape it and possibly have a two part series.

Square dancing vendor for Family Day has been secured. Family Day help and volunteering is needed.

9AM Basketball on Sundays for adults and 5PM one day during the week for kids is suggested.

Book Club meeting on 3rd Thursdays of the month at 7:30PM at the grange.

Joy Bradway offered garden tips and will form a committee to plant mosquito repelling plants around the park. This will be a multigenerational activity involving seniors and kids and adults alike.

OLD BUSINESS:

NEW BUSINESS:

A resident requested the pools stay open later in the summer until 10PM.

A resident requested a section of the park be dedicated to a dog run.

Residents want to see a twice a week clean out of the dog bins.

 

MINUTES

A resident would like to see a garage sale again.

Residents want to know what the Radburn Association committee suggestions are for the $4M dollars. The RCA had provided suggestions to the RA committee and now the RCA want to hear from the committee regarding their suggestions and discussions.

Suggestion for reflective wrist bands for pedestrians.
