Trustees Report

Jill was unable to attend the trustee meeting in person due to her broken ankle but she was informed that Scott Bray and Steve Kiel remain as President and Treasurer of the Radburn Associaiton respectively.

She was also informed that the Radburn Association denied the Radburn PTA the use of the park path for their annual 5K run because the Board of Education did not sign an indemnity agreement.

Suggestion was made by the members of the RCA meeting that since certain paths are owned by the borough the PTA should map out a public route.

Suggestions for additional activities may be sent to pres@radburncitizens.org .

The following people agreed to be chairs and/or co-chairs of the following committees:

Historian                                                          Larry Koplick.

OLD BUSINESS:

If the Board of Trustees is open to investigating benches but don’t want the plaques then will they be willing to pay for the benches? People will donate their own funds for benches if they can honor someone with a plaque. If no plaque is available, then will the board spend some recreational budget for new benches?

NEW BUSINESS:

A motion was made to waive the $500 per event spending limit for Family Day. The motion was approved.

MINUTES

Many residents at the RCA meeting want to know exactly how much was received from Landmark for the purchase of Daly Field, what bank are the funds located, how is the money going to be invested and how much interest is being earned on the funds?

They also want to know if the construction materials being used will not be the same light wood construction that was used in the Edgewater complex that just suffered from a devastating fire recently.

An idea was raised to form a new type of committee called the Intergenerational Exchange where young and old and teens in between can get together for certain projects. Baking classes can be taught by experienced bakers to the newbie. Knitting classes can be offered and teens can volunteer to offer baby-sitting services at the grange while certain events take place. Teens can participate in new plantings around the park and take advice from the older generation etc. Investigate whether service credits can be offered for particular events.

Residents inquired if the tennis courts will be fixed and if tennis lessons can resume.

Residents pointed out the need for the Radburn Association to clean out the dog poop cans more often preferably twice per week especially during the summer months.

MOTION TO ADJOURN:

Following motion and second, the meeting was adjourned by Jill Davis

Respectfully submitted this 11th day of February, 2015 by Emily Schutz, Radburn Citizens’ Association Secretary.
