MINUTES

RADBURN CITIZENS’ ASSOCIATION MEETING

Date: May 13th 2015

Time: 7:30pm

Location: Grange Hall

Number in attendance 8 headcount (8 signed in):

Quorum was not met

WELCOME AND CALL TO ORDER: Jill Davis

Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of April 8th meeting were read.

TREASURER’S REPORT:         Marshall Chandler

Marshall Chandler read the treasurer’s report.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Jill Davis

April 18th Talent Night and Pot Luck Dinner was a great success.

May 17th house tour was cancelled. Instead there will be a kids event called Fairy Tale Stories at 11AM. May 17th will also be the welcome tea for new residents. Jill ordered some sandwiches from Giovanni for a cost of $100 for the event.

The next RCA Meeting is scheduled for June 17th 2015.

Trustees Report

The EDC Economic Development Corporation gave a $60,000 grant to do a transportation study by the Radburn train station.

The trustees said no to a dog run.

There will be no additional dog poop pick-ups during the summer months.

The Radburn Association is waiting for Landmark to submit its architectural application.

Suggestions for additional activities may be sent to pres@radburncitizens.org .

Larry Koplick is willing to do another presentation on the history of Radburn. The date to be determined.

May 17th Welcome Tea scheduled. Come out and meet new residents.

May 26th Joy’s House Garden Committee will meet.

June 2nd Glen Wild’s Garden Center will speak about gardening.

OLD BUSINESS:

A plaque for just the landscaper Marjorie Cautley was denied but if the trustees agree to a plaque it will include all the founder’s the architect Stein, Wright as well as the landscape architect Cautley. Cornell will give recognition to Marjorie Cautley on the tree walk maps created.

Some of the tree signs have been installed.

NEW BUSINESS:

Cornell will apply for historical landmark status for 3 historical trees in Radburn.

The RCA officer’s unanimously voted yes on pledging a $100 donation toward Cornell’s tree sign project. Payment to be made in September.

Suggestion for reflective wrist bands for pedestrians.

 

Need movie title suggestions for movies in the park. Some made were Casablanca, Into the Woods, Annie, Home, Oz the Great and Powerful

MOTION TO ADJOURN:

Following motion and second, the meeting was adjourned by Jill Davis
